The primary residence of the child patient must be in San Joaquin County or the city of Galt.  Exceptions for out of the area applications may be considered based on the recommendation of the social worker.

Families should apply for financial support through their social worker or patient advocate at the hospital where the child is receiving treatment.   CKSJC has a working referral relationship with the following hospitals:

• UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital – San Francisco and Oakland

• Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital – Stanford

• Kaiser Permanente – Roseville and Oakland

• Sutter Medical Center – Sacramento

• UC Davis Medical Center – Sacramento

 

Families may receive financial support every 6 months while the child is in treatment for cancer.  Funding is provided through gift cards with cash value for gas, groceries, household needs, and on the road expenses such as food and hotel.  Reimbursement is offered for insurance copayments or deductibles, or auto repair expense if necessary for transportation to the hospital for treatment.
